A Pool of Developers, Pre-Screened, Matched to Your Project
Not a directory to browse and not an open bidding site. A pool of developers who have already cleared a dual-axis vetting bar, filtered and shortlisted against the project you describe.

A Curated Shortlist, Not an Open Directory
The word gets used loosely elsewhere, so it is worth being precise. This is not a public listing you scroll through, and it is not a bidding site where developers undercut each other to win your project. It is a pool of developers who have already passed a fixed vetting bar, and who we filter and shortlist against what you actually need.
You never see the whole pool, and that is deliberate. Seeing three relevant, already-checked profiles is more useful than seeing three hundred unfiltered ones and doing the filtering yourself.
How a Developer Gets Into the Pool
Getting listed is not the same as being interested. Every developer clears two separate evaluations before we will match them against a client project.
Engineering fundamentals
A live coding evaluation — debugging, design reasoning, honest code review — the way any serious technical interview would run, with or without an AI tool in the room.
AI-assisted work review
A separate look at how they prompt, how critically they review what an AI tool hands back, and whether they catch the kind of confident-but-wrong output these tools produce.
Both have to pass independently, plus reference checks on top. A developer who is fast with an AI tool but weak on fundamentals does not get averaged into the pool, and neither does a strong traditional engineer who has never learned to review AI output critically. Read the full method on vetting process.
You Describe the Project, We Do the Filtering
Matching is a service we do for you, not a search box you operate yourself.
Share the brief
Stack, scope, engagement type and timeline — a short conversation, not a formal job spec.
We filter the pool
Against stack, availability and the shape of the work, not just keyword overlap on a resume.
You get a shortlist
A small number of already-vetted profiles, sent within days, not a long list to sort yourself.
You interview and choose
Your own process, your own decision. We do not pick on your behalf.
Marketplace, Precisely Defined
The word invites assumptions from other kinds of sites. Here is what does not apply.
Same Shape, Different Standard
A conventional agency and this marketplace both propose people rather than list them publicly. What differs is what "vetted" is checked against.
Vetting varies by recruiter and role
- Screening is usually a resume check and a conversation about experience.
- How someone uses AI coding tools is rarely evaluated at all.
- The bar can shift from one placement to the next.
One fixed, dual-axis bar for everyone
- A live coding evaluation of fundamentals, every time, no exceptions.
- A separate review of AI-assisted work and how critically it is checked.
- Both must pass independently, plus reference checks, for every developer in the pool.
Three Engagement Models, One Vetting Bar
Questions About the Marketplace
Can I browse developer profiles myself, like a freelance site?
No. There is no public directory to scroll through and no open bidding. You tell us the project and stack, and we send a short, curated shortlist of developers who have already cleared vetting and genuinely fit what you described. Browsing an unfiltered list is exactly the step the vetting is meant to remove.
How does a developer get into the pool in the first place?
By clearing two separate evaluations: a live coding assessment of fundamental engineering judgement, and a review of AI-assisted work plus reference checks. Both have to pass independently — the full detail is on our vetting process page. Being fast with an AI tool does not offset a weak fundamentals score, and vice versa.
Is this the same as a staffing agency?
The commercial shape rhymes — you describe a need, we propose people — but a traditional staffing agency is not built around a specific technical axis. We screen everyone against the same dual bar of AI-tool fluency and engineering judgement, which is a narrower and more consistent standard than most agencies apply, and it is the only standard we apply.
How is a match actually put together?
We read your brief, filter the pool for stack and availability, and then hand-check the shortlist against what you actually described rather than just keyword-matching a resume. You get a small number of relevant profiles, not a long list to sort through yourself.
Does "marketplace" mean prices are negotiated per developer like a bidding site?
No. There is no reverse-auction and no developers competing on price in front of you. Rates are set per engagement type and discussed directly, not bid down in an open listing. See pricing for how that works.
What happens after I pick someone from the shortlist?
You interview the candidates yourself and choose directly — we do not choose for you. Once you confirm, the engagement starts on the model that fits: project-based, or ongoing team augmentation. Full detail is on how hiring works.
